RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH
U-46 SCHOOL DISTRICT
(1555 Larkin Avenue)
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS, that Olufemi Folarin, Interim City Manager, and Dolonna
Mecum, City Clerk, be and are hereby respectively authorized and
directed to execute a written lease agreement with U-46 School
District for the premises commonly known as 1555 Larkin Avenue,
Elgin, Illinois, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part
hereof by reference .

AMENDMENT TO LEASE
THIS AMENDMENT TO LEASE entered into this S7// day of ,4 U Gb , 2002, by and between
the City of Elgin, an Illinois municipal corporation, (hereinafter referred to as the "City")
and U-46 SCHOOL DISTRICT, a Unit School District organized under the statutes of the State of
Illinois, (hereinafter referred to as the "School District") .
WHEREAS, the City and the School District have previously entered into a lease dated
July 13, 1992, whereby the City is leasing to the School District the city-owned property
commonly known as 1555 Larkin Avenue, Elgin, Illinois (hereinafter referred to as the "Subject
Lease") ; and
WHEREAS, the term of the Subject Lease expires and terminates on July 31, 2002; and
WHEREAS, the City and the School District desire to enter into an amendment to the
Subject Lease to extend the term of the lease three months from the current termination date of
July 31, 2002 until October 31, 2002.
NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the mutual undertakings as set forth herein,
and other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which of which is
hereby acknowledged, the parties hereto agree as follows:
1. That the City and the School District agree that the term of the Subject Lease
dated July 13, 1992, fof° the property at 1555 Larkin Avenue, Elgin, Illinois, between the City
and the School District is hereby extended from the current termination date of July 31, 2002,
until October 31, 2002.
2. That except for the three month extension to the term of the Subject Lease as
provided for in this Amendment to Lease the remaining provisions of the Subject Lease between
the City and the School District shall remain unaffected and in full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have entered into and executed this Amendment to
Lease on the date and year first written above.
