BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS, that 2002 scavenger licenses be and are hereby approved

I am attaching a memorandum from Brad Bohner reading the applicants who have met
requirements for obtaining a scavenger license . In the past his has simply been placed on the
Council agenda without the necessity of being put on the Coinmittee of the Whole agenda first.
Accordingly, please prepare the appropriate resolution and place it under "Other Business" on
the Council Agenda.

Chapter 6.54 of the Elgin Municipal Code requires that a lit of eligible license applicants for
scavenger licenses be submitted to the City Clerk for referral to the Council. Applicants for the
2002 scavenger licenses which have met these requirements aie listed below.
BFI Waste Services
Crown Recycling and Waste
Joe Billups Trucking
K Hoving Recycling and Disposal
Paco's Scraping
Pauls Auto Yard
Ray Schreiber Disposal Company
Waste Management
The following companies held scavenger licenses in 2001 and have not met the requirements this
year.
Arc Disposal has not had any vehicles inspected and has not completed a scavenger business
license application.
Disposal Management Systems has not had any vehicles inspected and has not completed a
scavenger business license application.

1. An inspection of every vehicle that hauls garbage, trash, recyclables and/or
construction waste within the Elgin city limits, or a copy of each vehicle's Illinois
portable truck inspection, IDOT vehicle inspection, or USDOT vehicle inspection.
2. A completed business application form.
