RE: 2001 Scavenger Licenses
Chapter 6.54 of the Elgin Municipal Code requires that a lit of eligible license applicants for
scavenger licenses be submitted to the City Clerk for referral to the Council. Applicants for the
2001 scavenger licenses which have met these requirements are listed below.

Re: Scavenger Licenses for 2001
Dear Mr. Cook:
I have recently made several unsuccessful attempts to contact you regarding the licensing of the BFI
Waste Services West scavenger trucks for 2001. The City of Elgin requires the following before
issuing a scavenger license.
1. A copy of your certificatet]fliability insurance($1001,000.00/$300,000.00)and property
damage insurance (S50,000:005100,000.00).
2. An inspection of every vehicle that hauls garbage, tro sh, recyclables and/or construction
waste within the Elgin city limits. Each vehicle m st have an Illinois portable truck
inspection number, and IDOT vehicle inspection numb-r, or an USDOT vehicle inspection
number posted on each truck.
3. A completed-business application form.
