RESOLUTION
EXTENDING MILITARY SERVICE BENEFITS TO EMPLOYEES ACTIVATED BY
ORDER OF THE PRESIDENT
WHEREAS, the President of the United States may activate
military reservists and members of the National Guard to support
United States military forces in the war on terrorism; and
WHEREAS, certain employees of the City of Elgin may be
called to active duty as a result of the President' s action to
activate military reservists and members of the National Guard;
and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to continue the salary and benefits
of such employees who are called to active duty to support United
States military forces .
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS, that employees called to active military service to
support United States military forces shall in addition to such
employee' s military pay continue to be compensated, during such
active service, their salary or compensation paid by the City of
Elgin.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that such employees' health insurance
coverage shall be continued during such active service upon the
same terms and conditions as otherwise may apply.
