RESOLUTION
APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 IN THE CONTRACT WITH
MECHANICAL, INC. FOR THE LORDS PARK FAMILY AQUATIC CENTER
WHEREAS, the City of Elgin has heretofore entered into a
contract with Mechanical , Inc . for the Lords Park Family Aquatic
Center; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable to modify the terms of
the contract as is described in Change Order No . 1, attached
hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS, that Joyce A. Parker, City Manager, be and is
hereby authorized and directed to execute Change Order No. 1, a
copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by
reference .

SUBJECT: Mechanical Inc . Change Order No. 1
PURPOSE
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide the Mayor and members
of the City Council with information to consider Change Order No.
1 to the Mechanical Inc . contract for Lords Park Family Aquatic
Center.
BACKGROUND
rik The original project specifications for the Lords Park Family
Aquatic Center included the same water play feature that was
included at the Wing Park Family Aquatic Center. This play feature
was palm trees with coconuts that dump water. Staff decided prior
to the specifications being developed that there was a need to have
a different theme established at Lords Park. The theme for the
Lords Park Family Aquatic Center and the play feature selected will
include frogs . Inadvertently, the architect did not change this
specification in the bid documents .
The change order will involve a credit from the original project
account in the amount of $9, 500 to eliminate the palm trees from
the project . The frog feature was bid (see Bid #01-075 memo. )
