RESOLUTION
DESIGNATING NICHOLAS .A. ORITI AS THE AUTHORIZED AGENT
THE ILLINOIS MUNICIPAL RETIREMENT FUND
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS, that Nicholas A. Oriti be and is hereby designated as the
authorized agent of the City of Elgin for the Illinois Municipal
Retirement Fund.

SUBJECT: Appointment of Authorized Agent
for the City' s IMRF Plan
PURPOSE
The purpose of this memorandum is to request that the Mayor and
members of the City Council adopt a resolution designating the new
Human Resources Director as the authorized agent for the City' s
IMRF pension plan.
BACKGROUND

The Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund requires that a
participating Municipality appoint an Authorized Agent through the
adoption of a resolution by the governing body. The City of Elgin
has historically designated the Human Resources Director as the
Authorized Agent with the powers and duties delegated to the
authorized agent pursuant to Sec . 7-135 of the Illinois Pension
Code by the governing body.
With the change in the position of Human Resources Director, it is
necessary to pass a resolution appointing the new Human Resources
Director as the Authorized Agent for the City.

ALTERNATIVES
The Mayor and members of the City Council could pass a resolution
appointing the new Human Resources Director as the Authorized Agent
or direct that the former Human Resources Director remain as the
Authorized Agent .
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Mayor and members of the City Council
adopt a resolution appointing the new Human Resources Director as
the City' s Authorized Agent for IMRF.
