RESOLUTION
APPROVING COSPONSORSHIP OF ELGIN HOUSING FAIR 2000
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS, that the City of Elgin shall be a cosponsor of the
Elgin Housing Fair 2000 event which has been tentatively
scheduled for Saturday, April 29, 2000 at the Hemmens
Auditorium Exhibition Hall .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the city' s cosponsorship of
the Elgin Housing Fair 2000 event shall consist of providing
the Hemmens Auditorium Exhibition Hall space for the one day
event at no cost and providing city staff to assist with such
event as determined by the City Manager.

Councilman Figueroa is interested in discussing the Elgin Housing
Fair 2000 at the January 12 Committee of the Whole meeting. He
would like the City to be a co-sponsor for this event .

ELGIN HOUSING FAIR 2000
Purpose
Promoting homeownership helps us to improve the quality of life in
our community. This event will also encourage existing homeowners to
move up and stay in town. Elgin Housing Fair 2000 will provide:
1. Opportunity to inform residents about City Programs such
as Grants, Residential Rehabilitation Funds, etc.
2. Show concern about housing alternatives for overcrowding.
3. Available First Time Homebuyers Programs.
4. Provide promotional material and information from
Realtors, Lenders, Community Organizations, etc.
5. Opportunity for professionals in Real Estate such as
Attorneys, Appraisers, to answer residents questions.
To help on this initiative the following leaders have shown interest:
1. Angel Rosenthal- NHS
2. Jerry Campagna -Publisher
3. Irma Gonzalez- Mortgage Broker-Owner
4. George Irizarry- Attorney in Real Estate
5. Pat Kerrigan — Mortgage Loan Officer
