RESOLUTION
APPOINTING COUNCILMAN JUAN FIGUEROA TO SERVE AS A
LIAISON TO LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS TO COOPERATE IN A STUDY
OF THE ISSUE OF HOMELESSNESS
WHEREAS, the local chapter of Public Action to Deliver
Shelter (P.A.D. S . ) and local churches have expressed their
concerns that there exists a need for a permanent homeless
shelter within the City of Elgin; and
WHEREAS, it would be appropriate to cooperate with
P .A.D. S and other local organizations to study the nature and
extent of the homelessness problem in the City of Elgin and to
receive a report from such organizations which identifies the
nature, extent and level of homelessness in the City of Elgin
and which sets forth and recommends a comprehensive plan to
address such problem including cost estimates thereof and any
available funding for therefore .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ELGIN that Councilman Juan Figueroa is hereby
appointed to serve as a liaison to P.A.D. S . and other local
organizations to cooperate with such organizations in a study
of the nature and extent of the homelessness problem in the
City of Elgin in order to receive a report from such
organizations which identifies the nature, extent and level of
homelessness in the City of Elgin and which sets forth and
recommends a comprehensive plan to address such problem
including cost estimates thereof and any available funding
therefore .
