RESOLUTION NO 98- /:34/ ,
APPROVING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE COUNTY OF KANE AND THE CITY OF ELGIN '
FOR ACCESS AND IMPROVEMENTS TO RANDALL ROAD ,
FROM I-90 TOLLWAY TO STATE ROUTE 72 i=''°:
WHEREAS, the Illinois Constitution of 1970, Article VII, Section 10
and 5 ILCS 220/1 et seq. authorizes the County and the City of Elgin t0
cooperate in the performance of their respective duties and
responsibilities by contract and other agreements; and

WHEREAS, the City of Elgin and the County of Kane, in order to
facilitate and assure the proper flow of traffic on Randall Road at
present and in the future, and permit reasonable development of adjacent
lands, wish to limit direct access from properties adjoining Randall
Road; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elgin and the County of Kane have determined
that limitations on direct access to Randall Road are necessary for
proper transportation planning and land use planning along Randall Road;
and
WHEREAS, an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Elgin to
designate access and improvements to Randall Road from I-90 Tollway to
State Route 72 is deemed by the County and the City of Elgin to be of
immediate benefit to the residents of the County of Kane in that it
shall facilitate the safe and efficient movement of traffic and shall
provide for the safety of the motoring public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the
Chairman thereof is hereby authorized to execute the intergovernmental ' .
agreement (a copy of which is on file with the County Clerk's Office)
with the City of Elgin to designate access and improvements to Randall
Road from I-90 Tollway to State Route 72 . a
