AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
COUNTY OF KANE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS, that Larry L. Rice, City Manager, and Dolonna Mecum,
City Clerk, be and are hereby authorized and directed to
execute an agreement on behalf of the City of Elgin with the
County of Kane for temporary traffic signals at the
intersection of Randall Road and Big Timber Road, a copy of
which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

COUNTY OF KANE AND CITY OF ELGIN
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC SIGNALS
INTERSECTION OF RANDALL ROAD AND BIG TIMBER ROAD
AN AGREEMENT, entered into this / ' lc day of 9 -/A-4-4--�,
, 1991 by and between the County of Kane and the City of Elgin
witnesseth;
WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary in order to facilitate the
free flow of traffic and to insure safety to the motoring public
the installation of temporary traffic signals;
WHEREAS, the County of Kane and the City of Elgin are
desirous of making said improvements in that the same will be of
immediate benefit to the County of Kane and the City of Elgin
residents; and
WHEREAS, the proposed improvement is estimated to be
$30,000 . 00 including the cost of preliminary engineering;
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises and
covenants herein contained, the County of Kane and the City of
Elgin hereby agree as follows :
A. The County of Kane agrees to have said work constructed
under its supervision and contract in accordance with
the plans prepared by the Kane County Division of
Transportation.
B. The County of Kane Agrees to pay 50 percent of the cost
of preliminary engineering and construction and 100
percent of construction supervision and the City of
Elgin agrees to pay 50 percent of the cost of the
preliminary engineering and construction for said
improvement.
C. During the course of construction, the County of Kane
and the City of Elgin shall pay their respective shares
of each pay estimate as approved by the resident
engineer.

APPROVING JOINT AGREEMENT
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC SIGNALS
INTERSECTION OF RANDALL ROAD AND BIG TIMBER ROAD
Approving Joint City of Elgin/County of Kane Agreement to provide temporary
traffic signals at the intersection of Randall Road and Big Timber Road.
WHEREAS, the City of Elgin and County of Kane is agreeable to jointly
cause the improvements to be constructed and it will be necessary to enter
into an agreement embodying such provisions.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the County Board be
and he hereby is authorized to execute such a joint agreement between the
City of Elgin and the County of Kane.
