RESOLUTION
DESIGNATING A PORTION OF BIG TIMBER ROAD AS A CLASS II TRUCK ROUTE
WHEREAS, the City of Elgin is located in Elgin Township, a part of Kane County,
Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elgin is participating in a Federal Aid Urban (FAU) Project
to reconstruct Big Timber Road from North State Street (Illinois Route 31) to North
McLean Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, the Big Timber Road FAU project will meet the criteria guidelines of
being able to support legal loads of up to 80,000 pounds and will provide a connection to
the designated state highway truck route system (DSHTRS); and
WHEREAS, the project has been let and a jurisdictional transfer to the City of
Elgin will take place.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN, ILLINOIS, that the City of Elgin designates Big Timber Road from North State
Street (Illinois Route 31) to North McLean Boulevard as a Class II truck route.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to the District
One and Springfield offices of the Illinois Department of Transportation.
