ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL OF SINGLES ROOFING CO., INC.
FOR ROOF REPAIRS AT THE LORD'S PARK MUSEUM
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS,
that James J. Cook, City Manager, be and is hereby authorized and directed to accept
the proposal on behalf of the City of Elgin of Singles Roofing Co., Inc. for roof repairs at
the Lord's Park Museum, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by
reference.

We herewith submit our proposal for the following work:
1. Remove the tile roofing from around the two triangle skylites on the north
slope, remove old worn and smeared flashings. Install new 30# Felt
underlayment, fabricate and install new 16 oz. copper (extra wide) skylite-
flashings, reseal glass with elastomeric compound, and refasten tiles over
the new underlayment and flashings.
2. Remove unused skylite from the south slope. Install sheathing as needed;
cover with new underlayment and tile.
3. Remove tile from around the north chimney, remove old flashings, install
new base-flashing over new felt, new saddle, and counter-flashing# of
16 oz. copper and reset tile.
4. Clean the vice-reinforced glass panes on the two large skylites (on top of
metal deck) and reseal with elastomeric caulk,
5. Clean the surface of the old copper deck at the top of the roof (470 Sq.
Ft.), and install new single-ply membrane roof such as A.R.C. Premium,
manufactured by American Roofing Corp. , Chicago, Illinois.
6, Remove all hip-cover tiles from the northwest and southwest hips, remove
the cracked mortar which conducts water under the tile roofing, reseal
with asphalt mastic cement, and renail the hip-covers (54 Ln. Ft.).
7, Replace all broken tile over the entire roof.
We propose to furnish all material, labor, equipment, and full insurance to do
the above work,

6. Remove two rows of tile above the old copper saddle (29' x 31) over the
main entrance, fabricate and install new 16 o:. saddle and renail the

16 oz. copper gutters with roof flange; install new Felt aver the new
gutter flan&V and under the old underlayment, reinstall tile.
