CENTER STREET SANITARY SEWER
(FRANKLIN TO KIMBALL)
CHANGE ORDER NO. 1
SCOPE. This Change Order No. 1 covers an addition to the above contract
with Gluth Brothers Construction, Inc. of Woodstock, IL. 60098 as follows:
Item 1. An additional 165 lineal feet of storm sewer that needed to
be removed and disposed of in order to repair the sanitary
sewer.
REASON FOR CHANGE.
Item 1. This area is one of the oldest sections of town. The avail-
able information is not always correct. According to old
records, the sanitary sewer that needed to be repaired was
8 feet deep. A 6 inch watermain was 5.5 feet deep and
approximately 3 feet on the east of the sanitary sewer. The
old record showed a 36 inch storm sewer 5 feet deep and
approximately 3 feet on the west of the sanitary sewer. In
that era some construction people probably dug one trench
and installed all three.
When the contractor started digging, it was discovered that
the 36 inch storm sewer was immediately above the sanitary
sewer, not beside it.
Because of the relative position, age and type of pipe, the
storm sewer had to be removed and replaced. The pipe could
not be salvaged.
SUMMARY OF CHANGES IN CONTRACT AMOUNT. The contract amount shall be re-
vised on the following basis:

Item 1. Additional 165 lineal feet R.C. storm
sewer, 36 inch, @ $45.00 per foot $7,425.00
By reason of this Change Order No. 1, the contract cost shall be increased
in the amount of Seven Thousand Four Hundred and Twenty-Five Dollars ($7,425.00)

OTHER CONTRACT PROVISIONS. All other provisions of the contract shall
remain the same.
