RIDER TO CONTRACT FOR SALE OF
WATER BY THE CITY OF ELGTN TO
THE VILLAGE OF SLEEPY HOLLOW
This Rider made and entered into this a3 #4 day of
OCio,?ER , 1980 , by and between the City of
Elgin (hereinafter referred to as Elgin) , an Illinois Municipal
Corporation and the Village of Sleepy Hollow (hereinafter
referred to as "Sleepy Hollow") , an Illinois Municipal Corpora-
tion,
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, Sleepy Hollow and Elgin have entered into a
contract for sale of water by the City of Elgin to the Village
of Sleepy Hollow, said contract being dated June 11, 1980 ; and
WHEREAS, the parties hereto agree it is necessary to
amend said contract by adding thereto the provisions of this
Rider, which provisions are fully set forth hereinafter;
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants
and agreements herein contained, Elgin and Sleepy Hollow agree
to amend said contract as hereinafter set forth:
1. That Paragraph 6 . of said contract be amended by
adding thereto the following:
All payments to be made by Sleepy Hollow to Elgin shall
be solely from the revenues to be derived from the operation
of the combined waterworks and sewer system of the Village of
Sleepy Hollow as provided by law.
2. That Paragraph 8. , Term of Contract, is hereby amended
to read as follows :
8. Term of Contract. This contract shall continue in
full force and effect for a period of twenty-one (21) years
from the date hereof. Sleepy Hollow shall have the option of
renewing the contract for any term permitted by law on such
terms and conditions and re-adjustments, if any, to be then
agreed by and between Sleepy Hollow and Elgin.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto acting under
authority of their respective governing bodies have caused
this contract to be duly executed in several counterparts,
each of which shall be constituted an original, all as of
the date and year first above written.
