RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH SAINT JOSEOH HOSPITAL, INC. TO
REGULATE PARKING IN CERTAIN, AREAS.
WHEREAS, Saint Joseph Hospital, Inc., a not-for-profit Illinois corpora-
tion owns and operates a hospital within the corporate limits of the City of
Elgin, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, said hospital has a parking loth accessory to the hospital build-
ing; and
WHEREAS, Saint Joseph Hospital, Inc. de. ires to empower the City of Elgin
to regulate the parking of automobiles and traffic at such parking area in a
certain manner; and
WHEREAS, Section 11-209 of Chapter 951 Of the Illinois Revised Statutes,
1971, authorizes the corporate authorities of any municipality to enter into
such a contract for such purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS that Leo I. Nelson, City Manager, be and is hereby authorized and
directed to enter into a written contract on behalf of the City of Elgin with
Saint Joseph Hospital, Inc. for the regulation of the parking of automobiles
and traffic in the parking lot accessory to ;the hospital building of Saint
Joseph Hospital, Inc.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said contract shall be recorded in the Office
of the Recorder of Deeds of Kane County, Illinbois.

Councilwoman Pearsaul made a motion, secondd by Councilman Doxey to pass an
ordinance authorizing a Special Use for a Church at 1064 Dundee Avenue. Yeas:
Councilmen Barnes, Bruneman, Doxey, Gilliam Pearsaul, Verbic and Mayor Rausche'
berger. Nays: None.

wiTNESSEIH: That for and inconsideration of the mutual promises
and covenants herein contained and by authority of the applicable state
statutes, Saint Joseph Hospital, Incorporated, owner of the following
described property located within the City of Elgin, County of Kane:

commonly known as 77 Airlite Street, Agin, Illinois and the City of Elgin,

a municipal corporation agree as follows:
1. That the following roadWays located within the
parking area of Saint Joseph Hospital shall be designated
as fire lanes.

on the south side of the main building extending
easterly for approximately 600 feet from Airlite
Street.
B. Both sides of the roadway extending easterly
from Airlite Street for approximately 240 feet
to the approximate center of the main hospital
building.

C. Both sides of that cart of the roadway
on the north side of the main building ex-
tending easterly from Airlite Street for
approximately 240 feet.
D. both sides of that part of the roadway
on the west side of thw roadway and extend-
ing approximately 450 feet frac t e south
roadway described in sµb-paragraph A, hereof,
and connecting with the center roadway described
in sub-paragraph D, he}eof.

Viet no standing or parking of any motor vehicle shall be
permitted within the above scribed fire lanes at any time.
./S. That appropriate signs shall be erected designating said
fire lanes and reading 'Tb Forking Fire Lane" with the warning
'Tow Zone" attached.
v4. That signs described in paragraph 3 shall be furnished,
installed and maintained by Saint Joseph Fbspital.
-S. That the City of Elgin shall cause unattended motor
vehicles parked or abandoned in the designated fire lanes
to be removed and stored p6tding payment by the registered
owner of the costs of said removal and storage.
6. That the City of Elgin agrees to adopt necessary ordi-
mances to prohibit standin or parking in designated fire
lanes and making violationfi punishable by a fine not to
exceed $200.00.
7. That this agreement as be terminated upon thirty days
written notice by either prrty.

8. That this agreement shall be recorded in the Office of
the Recorder of Deeds of Kane County, Illinois in accordance
with the statute spade and prot►ided.
