HomeMy WebLinkAboutS08-11 AN ORDINANCE Ordinance No. S8-11 ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ELGIN (1300 Summit Street) WHEREAS, a petition signed by all the owners of record of certain territory has been filed with the City Clerk requesting annexation of said territory to the City of Elgin, Illinois; and WHEREAS, said petition includes therein a statement under oath by all the owners:of record that no electors reside on the subject territory; and WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Elgin and is not within the corporate limits of any municipality; and WHEREAS, legal notices of the intent of the City of Elgin to annex said territory have been forwarded to all public bodies required to receive said notice in the manner provided by law. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the territory and lands described as follows be and are annexed to and • made a part of the City of Elgin and the boundaries of the City of Elgin be and are hereby enlarged and extended to include in the corporate boundaries of the City of Elgin said territory: That part of the Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 7, Township 41 North, Range 9 East of the Third Principal Meridian property described as follows: Parcel Two: Part of the Southwest '/4 of Section 8, Township 41 North, Range 9 East of the Third Principal Meridian, described as follows: Commencing at the Northwest Corner of the Southwest '/4 of the Southwest '/4 of said Section; thence North 88° 48' East along the North Line of the Southwest '/4 of the Southwest '/4 of said Section, 261.2 feet for a place of beginning; thence South 1° 33' West along a line parallel with the West Line of said Section, 838.7 feet to the North Line of State Route 58; thence South 89° 29' East along said North Line 39.0 feet; thence North 01' 33' East along a line parallel with the West Line of said Section, 839.87 feet to the North Line of the Southwest '/4 of the Southwest '/4 of said Section; thence South 88° 48' West, along said North Line 39.0 feet to the place of beginning, in Cook County, Illinois. • Parcel Three; That part of the Southwest '/4 of Section 8, Township 41 North, Range 9 East of the Third Principal Meridian, bounded by a line described as follows: Beginning at the Northwest Corner of the Southwest '/4 said Section 8; thence North 88° 48' East along the North Line of the Southwest '/4 of the Southwest '/4, 261.2 feet; thence South 01' 33' West parallel with the West Line of said Section 8, 838.7 to the North 89° 29' West along said North right of way line, 261.0 feet to the West Line of Section 8; thence North 01° 33' East along the West Line of said Section, 830.9 feet to the place of beginning, in Cook County, Illinois. Parcel Four: Part of the Southwest '/4 of Section 8, Township 41 North, Range 9 East of The Third Principal Meridian, described as follows: Commencing at the intersection of the West Line of said Section 8 with the North right of way line of State Route 58; thence South 89° 29' East along said right of way line of State Route 58; thence South 89° 29' East along said right of way line, 300.0 feet for a place of beginning; thence South 01° 33' East along a line parallel with and 300.0 feet east of the West line of said Section, 839.87 feet to a point in the north line of the southwest '/4 of the southwest '/4 of said Section; thence in the South 89° • 29' East along a line that is parallel with the North right of way line of the aforesaid State Route 58, 300.0 feet; thence South 01' 33' West along a line parallel with and 600.0 feet east of the West line of said Section, 839.87 feet to the North right of way line of the aforesaid State Route 58; thence North 89° 29' West along said right of way line, 300.0 feet to the place of beginning, except the East '/2 thereof, in Cook County, Illinois, (Property Commonly Known As 1300 Summit Street). Section 2. That a certified copy of this ordinance together with an accurate map of said territories shall be filed with the Recorder of Deeds, Cook County, Illinois. Section 3.
