AN ORDINANCE
DISCONNECTING CERTAIN TERRITORY FROM THE CITY OF ELGIN
(LAKEWOOD MILL LLC PROPERTY ON WEST BARTLETT ROAD)
WHEREAS, Lakewood Mill, L.L.C . , a Delaware limited liability
company, has filed a petition with the City Clerk of the City of
Elgin pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/7-1-24 requesting that a certain parcel
of real property along West Bartlett Road containing approximately
3 . 73 acres be disconnected from the City of Elgin; and
WHEREAS, such property is within the corporate limits of the
City of Elgin and is contiguous to the corporate limits of the
Village of Bartlett ; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elgin has previously entered into an
intergovernmental agreement dated March 4 , 2003 , with the Village
of Bartlett and Lakewood Homes, Inc . , which provides in part for
the parties to agree to the disconnection of such property from the
City of Elgin and the subsequent annexation of such property into
the Village of Bartlett; and
WHEREAS, the Petition for Disconnection has been signed by at
least one-half of the owners of record of such property and there
are no electors on such property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS :
Section 1 . That the property legally described as follows :
The North 265 feet of the West 706 feet of the
Southwest 1/4 of Section 32 , Township 41 North, Range 9
East of the Third Principal Meridian in Cook County,
Illinois .
be and is hereby disconnected from the City of Elgin, provided,
however, that such property shall not be disconnected from the City
of Elgin until it is annexed into the Village of Bartlett .
Section 2 . That a certified copy of this ordinance shall
within ninety (90) days of the passage of this ordinance be filed
by the City Clerk for recordation in the Recorder' s Office of Cook
County and with the County Clerk of Cook County.
Section 3 . That a certified copy of this ordinance shall
within thirty (30) days of the passage of this ordinance be sent by
certified or registered mail by the City Clerk to the election
authorities having jurisdiction in the territory described in this

ordinance and to the post office branches serving the territory
described in this ordinance .
Section 4 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and are hereby
repealed.
Section 5 . That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage .
