HomeMy WebLinkAboutT22-01 r p Ordinance No. T22-01 AN ORDINANCE FOR THE LEVY AND ASSESSMENT OF TAXES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING DECEMBER 31 , 2001 IN AND FOR THE CITY OF ELGIN SPECIAL SERVICE AREA NUMBER TWO. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS : Section 1 . Findings : That the City of Elgin Special Service Area Number Two has been created by an ordinance entitled "An Ordinance Establishing Special Service Area Number Two in the City of Elgin" passed and effective on September 7, 1977 ; that the corporate authorities of the City of Elgin, acting as the governing board of the City of Elgin Special Service Area Number Two are authorized to levy taxes for special services in said special service area. Section 2 . That there be and there is hereby levied upon all taxable property within the City of Elgin Special Service Area Number Two, subject to taxation for the year 2001, the sum total of $57, 470 for the following purposes . rEstimated Receipts From Sources To Be 2002 Other Than Raised By Appropriation Taxation Taxation Debt Services - repayment of loan from City of Elgin for the construction of parking facility $ 86, 015 $29, 114 $56, 901 Total appropriation $ 86, 015 Total revenues from sources other than Taxation $29, 114 Amount to be raised by taxation $56, 901 Add: 1% for loss of collection 569 Total amount to be raised by taxation for Special Service Area Number Two purposes $57, 470 Section 3 . The tax levied herein is pursuant to the provision of Article VII , Section 6A and 6L of the Constitution of the State of Illinois and pursuant to 35 ILCS 200/27-5 et . seq. , as amended, and to an ordinance establishing City of Elgin Special Service Area Number Two. rft Section 4 . That it is hereby certified to the County Clerk of F Kane County, Illinois the sum aforesaid, which total amount City of Elgin Special Service Area Number Two requires to be raised by taxes for the current fiscal year and the City Clerk of the City of Elgin is hereby ordered and directed to file with the County Clerk of the County of Kane on or before the time required by the law a certified copy of this ordinance . I further certify that on March 27, 2001, the Corporate Authorities of such municipality passed and approved Ordinances T1-02 through T15-02, which provided by their terms they should be published in pamphlet form. The pamphlet form of Ordinances No. T1-02 through T15-02, including the Ordinance and a cover sheet thereof, was prepared, and a copy of such Ordinance was posted in the municipal building, commencing on March 29, 2002, and continuing for at least ten days thereafter.
