I, Dolonna Mecum, certify that I am the duly appointed and acting municipal
clerk of the City of Elgin, Cook and Kane Counties, Illinois.
I further certify that on December 2, 1998, the Corporate Authorities of such
municipality passed and approved Ordinance No. T19-98, entitled An Ordinance for the Levy
and Assessment of Taxes For the Fiscal Year Ending December 31, 1998, in and for
The City of Elgin Special Service Area Number Two, which provided by its terms that it should
be published in pamphlet form.
The pamphlet form of Ordinance No. T19-98, including the Ordinance and a
cover sheet thereof, was prepared, and a copy of such Ordinance was posted in the municipal
building, commencing on December 3, 1998, and continuing for at least ten days thereafter.
Copies of such Ordinance were also available for public inspection upon request in the office of
the municipal clerk.

AN ORDINANCE
FOR THE LEVY AND ASSESSMENT OF TAXES FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1998 IN AND FOR THE CITY OF
ELGIN SPECIAL SERVICE AREA NUMBER TWO
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS:
Section 1 . Findings : That the City of Elgin Special
Service Area Number Two has been created by an ordinance enti-
tled "An Ordinance Establishing Special Service Area Number Two
in the City of Elgin" passed and effective on September 7 ,
1977 ; that the corporate authorities of the City of Elgin,
acting as the governing board of the City of Elgin Special
Service Area Number Two are authorized to levy taxes for
special services in said special service area.
Section 2 . That there be and there is hereby levied upon
all taxable property within the City of Elgin Special Service
Area Number Two, subject to taxation for the year 1998, the sum
total of $49 , 654 for the following purposes .

Section 3 . The tax levied herein is pursuant to the provi-
sion of Article VII , Section 6A and 6L of the Constitution of the
State of Illinois and pursuant to 35 ILCS 200/27-5 et. seq. , as
amended, and to an ordinance establishing City of Elgin Special
Service Area Number Two.
Section 4 . That it is hereby certified to the County Clerk
of Kane County, Illinois the sum aforesaid, which total amount
City of Elgin Special Service Area Number Two requires to be
e". raised by taxes for the current fiscal year and the City Clerk of
the City of Elgin is hereby ordered and directed to file with the
County Clerk of the County of Kane on or before the time required
by law a certified copy of this ordinance.
Section 5 . That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval as provided by

AMENDING THE 1998 BUDGET
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS :
Section 1 . That the 1998 budget of the City of Elgin
adopted in lieu of an appropriation ordinance be and is hereby
amended in accordance with the schedule which attached hereto
and made a part hereof by reference.
Section 2 . That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage.
