"GENERAL PENALTY-CITATIONS"
OF THE ELGIN MUNICIPAL CODE, 1976, AS AMENDED
ADOPTED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ELGIN
ON THIS 8TH DAY OF JULY 1998

the City Council of the City of Elgin, Kane
and Cook Counties, Illinois, on this 9th
day of July 1998.

I, Dolonna Mecum, certify that I am the duly appointed and acting
municipal clerk of the City of Elgin, Cook and Kane Counties, Illinois.
I further certify that on July 8, 1998, the Corporate Authorities of such
municipality passed and approved Ordinance No. G61-98, entitled An Ordinance
Amending Chapter 1.20 Entitled "General Penalty-Citations" of the Elgin Municipal
Code, 1976, as Amended, which provided by its terms that it should be published in
pamphlet form.
The pamphlet form of Ordinance No. G61-98, including the Ordinance
and a cover sheet thereof, was prepared, and a copy of such Ordinance was posted
r. in the municipal building, commencing on July 9, 1998, and continuing for at least ten
days thereafter. Copies of such Ordinance were also available for public inspection
upon request in the office of the municipal clerk.

AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 1 . 20, ENTITLED "GENERAL PENALTY-CITATIONS"
OF THE ELGIN MUNICIPAL CODE, 1976, AS AMENDED
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS :
Section 1 . That Title 1, Chapter 1 . 20 of the Elgin
Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and is hereby further
amended by adding to the list of provisions within the Elgin
Municipal Code for which citations may be issued under Section
1 . 20 . 060A the following:
Chapter 6 . 37 (Rental Residential Property) all
sections;
Chapter 9 . 17 (Graffiti) all sections;
Chapter 9 . 50 (Smoking in Public Places ) all
sections;
Chapter 11 . 56 (Parking Rules) all sections;
Chapter 11 . 60 (Stopping, Standing & Parking) all
sections;
Title 14 (Water & Sewer) all chapters and
sections;
Title 19 (Zoning) all chapters and sections;
Title 21 (Stormwater Management) all chapters
and sections .
Section 2 . That Title 1, Chapter 1 . 20 of the Elgin
Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and is hereby further
amended by deleting from the list of provisions within the
Elgin Municipal Code for which citations may be issued under
Section 1 . 20 . 060A the following:
Chapter 6 .48 (Public Dances) all sections;
Chapter 6 . 78 (Undertakers ) all sections;
Chapter 9 . 10 (Food Service Establishments) all
sections;
Chapter 16 . 08 (Building Operations) all sections;
Chapter 16 . 36 (Air-conditioning and Refrigeration
Systems) all sections;
Chapter 19 . 05 (General Regulations - Zoning) all
sections;
Chapter 19 .45 (Community Graphics ) all sections .
Section 3. That Title 1, Chapter 1 .20 of the Elgin
Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and is hereby further
amended by amending the existing list of provisions within the
Elgin Municipal Code for which citations may be issued under
Section 1 . 20 . 060A as follows :
Chapter 6 . 21 (Foreign Fire Insurance Companies) all
sections;
Chapter 6 . 30 (Transient Merchants and Itinerant
Vendors ) all sections;
Chapter 6 . 75 (Mobile Homes and Mobile Home Parks)
all sections;
Chapter 9 . 08 (Retail Food Stores and Food Service
Establishments all sections;
Chapter 16 . 12 (Property Maintenance Code) all
sections;
Chapter 16 . 16 (Handicap Accessibility) all sections;
Chapter 16 . 32 (Heating, Ventilating and Air
Conditioning Code) all sections .
Section 4 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and are
hereby repealed.
Section 5 . That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect ten days after its passage and publication in the manner
provided by law.
