Home My WebLink AboutG71-94 emk Ordinance No. G71-94 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE WATER AND SEWER RATES WHEREAS, the City of Elgin has conducted a Five-Year Financial Plan process employing broad based community and organizational guidances; and WHEREAS, this process has produced financial plans for the major enterprise functions of water and sewer; and WHEREAS, these documents follow master plans for the utilities to provide better service to existing customers as well as expansion opportunities for economic development; and WHEREAS, among the strategic capital improvements for the water system is improvement and expansion of the Riverside Water Treatment Plant so that additional water is available in 1999 . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1 . That Section 14 . 04 . 180 of Chapter 14 . 04 e'b" entitled "Water Regulations" of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and is hereby further amended to read as follows : 14 . 04 . 180 Water rates--Consumers within city. A. The following rates are established and shall be collected for all water furnished by the city to any consumer in the city for purposes other than fire protection: 1 . Special services shall be billed at the prevailing water rates or, if temporary meter service is not feasible, a substantially equivalent rate will be determined by the city manager. C. Water furnished by the truckload shall be billed at the following rate per 1,000 gallons or fraction thereof. That Section 14 . 08 .220 of Chapter 14 . 08 entitled "Sewer System" of the Elgin Municipal code, 1976, as amended, be and is hereby further amended to read as follows : tow 14 . 08 . 220 Sewer rates . The following rates and fees are established and shall be collected for sanitary sewer service furnished by the city to any user in the city: A. For all properties connected to the city water system which are also served by a sanitary sewer, directly or indirectly connected to any sewer owned or maintained by the city, a rate is established as follows for each one hundred cubic feet of water supplied by the city or such quantity of water used as determined by the Fox River Water Reclamation District for billing purposes, whichever is less . 1995 1996 1997 1998 1999 $ 0 . 59 $ 0 . 65 $ 0 . 75 $ 0 .81 $ 0 . 88 B. For all properties which are not connected to the city water system which are served by a sanitary sewer, directly or indirectly connected to any sewer owned or maintained by the city, a rate as ��.. identified in paragraph A above shall apply. Provided, however, said rate shall not be less than that shown in Table #1 below per month for each single-family residence use and that shown in Table #II for all other uses .
