HomeMy WebLinkAboutG69-93 Ordinance No. G69-93 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FEE SCHEDULE FOR CERTAIN PERMITS, LICENSES AND INSPECTIONS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS : Section 1 . That Section 6 . 65 . 050 entitled "License fee-Exempt facilities" of Chapter 6 . 65 of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and is hereby further amended to read as follows : 6 . 65 . 050 License fee--Exempt facilities . The annual license fee of a swimming pool shall be $75 . 00 . Swimming pools operated by the city shall be exempt from the license fee requirement. Section 2 . That Section 9 . 08 . 050 entitled "License-Fee" of Chapter 9 . 08 of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and is hereby further amended to read as follows : 9 . 08 . 050 License-Annual Fee. 1 . Retail food stores : A. Retail food stores including sale of fresh meat and groceries $175 . 00 B. Specialty retail food stores $115 . 00 including, 1 . Bakeries, 2 . Confectionery and/or ice cream stores, 3 . Meat markets, 4 . Grocery stores (no sale of fresh meats) , 5 . Wholesale food distributors, 6 . Delicatessens; C. Convenience food outlets $ 60 . 00 including, 1 . Milk depots, including prepackaged convenience foods, 2 . Produce stands; r 2 . Food service establishments : A. Restaurants with a customer capacity of twenty-five persons or more at one time $170 . 00 including, 1 . Hospitals, 2 . Bars, taverns, lounges with food preparation B. Restaurants with a customer capacity including counter stool or seats, of less than twenty-five persons at one time $140 . 00 including, 1 . Drive-throughs-no seating 2 . Nursing homes, 3. Retirement centers, 4 . Bars, taverns, lounges with food preparation. C. Daycare centers with food preparation $100 . 00 D. Bars, taverns, lounges with only prepackaged food and no food preparation $ 60 . 00 3 . Waiver of fees : A. No permit fee otherwise required by this chapter shall be required of any unit of local government as defined by the Constitution of Illinois, 1970, school district, or community college district. B. The exemptions provided in this section apply only to fees and shall not exempt or waive the requirement of any permits or inspections otherwise required. 4 . Late payment penalty fee: All permit fees for the annual renewal of permits are due by December 31 of each year. Commencing January 1, 1995 establishments failing to submit the required fee by December 31 shall be assessed a late payment rft- penalty fee of five dollars per day in addition to the appropriate permit fee. a 5. Per 100 sq. ft. , or portion thereof of overall area of each floor (including above and below grade. . . $ 10 . 00 Garages (Attached or Detached) per 100 sq. ft. or portion thereof $ 10 . 00 B. A. Permit extension - Each Permit $ 20 . 00 B. Reinspection Fees - Each $ 30 . 00 To be charged when requested inspection not ready or work done incorrectly. ern. C. Penalties . Up to one hundred percent of permit fee based on departmental cost, shall be added if work is started without a permit. D. Plan Check. Fifty percent of building permit fee. E. Refund. If a permit has not lapsed, and if no work has been done, a refund may be requested by the applicant. A $20 . 00 administrative fee will be retained. Plan review fees are not refundable. Requests for refunds must be in writing. F. Waiver of Fees . 1 . No permit fee otherwise required by this chapter shall be required of any unit of local government as defined by the Constitution of Illinois, 1970, school district, or community college district. oe. 2 . The exemptions provided in this section apply only to fees and shall not exempt or waive the requirement of any permits or inspections otherwise required. Section 9 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and are hereby repealed. Section 10 .
