HomeMy WebLinkAboutG11-93 Ordinance No. G11-93 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6 . 06 ENTITLED "ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR DEALERS" OF THE ELGIN MUNICIPAL CODE, 1976 , AS AMENDED, PERTAINING TO LICENSE APPLICATIONS AND BASSET TRAINING REQUIREMENTS WHEREAS, the City of Elgin is an Illinois municipal corporation and a home rule unit pursuant to the Constitution and laws of the State of Illinois; and WHEREAS, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs; and WHEREAS, the regulation of the sale of alcoholic liquor is a matter pertaining to the government and affairs of the City of Elgin. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS : Section 1 . That Section 6 . 06 . 095 of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and is hereby further amended by adding the following: F. For the purposes of this section, a "new" license shall also refer to current licensees applying for a license of a different class than the license currently held, and all requirements of this section shall apply. Section 2 . That Title 6 . 06 entitled "Alcoholic Liquor Dealers" of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976 , as amended, be and is hereby further amended by amending Section 6 . 06 . 115C to read as follows : C. A photocopy of evidence of completion of the BASSET program must be filed with the city clerk within 21 days of completion of the BASSET program. Section 3 . That Title 6 . 06 entitled "Alcoholic Liquor Dealers" of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and is hereby further amended by adding Section 6 . 06 . 115D to read as follows : D. Employees or managers of the licensee who have completed the BASSET program shall maintain evidence of completion of the BASSET program on the premises of the licensee or on their person while on the premises of the licensee. Section 4 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and are hereby repealed. Section 5 . That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten days after its passage and publication in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
