HomeMy WebLinkAboutG72-88 Ordinance No. G72-88 AN ORDINANCE CLASSIFYING CERTAIN NEWLY ANNEXED TERRITORY (Elgin-O'Hare Business Center) WHEREAS, the territory herein described has been annexed to the City of Elgin; and WHEREAS, written application has been made to classify said territory in the B-3 Service Business District; and WHEREAS, after due notice in the manner provided by law the Land Use Committee conducted a public hearing concerning said application and has submitted its written findings and recommendation; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Elgin, Illinois, has reviewed the findings and recommendations of the Land Use Committee and concurs in its recommendation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section I. That Chapter 1 9.08, Section 19.08.020, entitled "Zoning District Map" of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by adding thereto the following paragraph: "The boundaries hereinbefore laid out in the 'Zoning District Map', as amended, be and are hereby altered by including in the B-3 Service Business District, the following described property: Parcel I Lot 5 of Miller's Hangars, recorded as Document No. 1108131, being a subdivision of part of Section 34, Township 42 North, Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Dundee Township, Kane County, Illinois and containing 1.37 acres more or less. Parcel 2 That part of a parcel of land which is designated "private road" lying west of the east line of Lot 3 as shown on the plat of Miller's Hangars, recorded as Document No. 1108131, being a subdivision of part of Sec- tion 34, Township 42 North, Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian and that part of a parcel of land which is designated "taxi strip easement" as shown on said plat of Miller's Hangars lying west of the following described line: Beginning at the southeast corner of Lot 3 of said Miller's Hangars, being also a point on the north line of said "taxi strip easement"; thence south 04 degrees 05 minutes 00 seconds west, along the east line, extended southerly, of said Lot 3, a distance of 3.97 feet for a point of curve; thence southerly, along a curve to the left having a radius of 200.87 feet and a chord bearing of south 05 degrees 25 minutes 57 seconds east and being tangent to the last described course, a distance of 66.72 feet to a A point on the south line of said "taxi strip easement" and the`terminus of said described line; excepting that part of said "private road" described as follows: commencing at the southeast corner of said Lot 3; thence north 04 degrees 05 minutes 00 seconds east, along the east line of said Lot 3, a distance of 66.12 feet to the north line of said "private road"; thence north 89 degrees 21 minutes 30 seconds west (record being north 89 degrees 21 minutes west), along said northline, a distance of 66.12 feet for the point of beginning of exception; thence continuing north 89 degrees 21 minutes 30 seconds west (record being north 89 degrees 21 minutes west), along said north line, a distance of 220.00 feet; thence south 00 degrees 38 minutes 30 seconds west, perpendicular to said north line, a distance of 48.00 feet; thence south 89 degrees 21 minutes 30 seconds east, parallel with said north line, a distance of 217.11 feet to a point on a line that is parallel with the aforesaid east line of Lot 3 and passes through the point of beginning; thence north 04 degrees 05 minutes 00 seconds east, along said parallel line, a distance of 48.09 feet to the point of beginning of exception. All being situated in Dundee Township, Kane County, Illinois and containing 0.09 acre more or less." Section 2.
