AN ORDINANCE
ESTABLISHING FARES AND CHARGES FOR THE TRANSPORTATION OF PERSONS BY
MOTOR VEHICLES BY EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES OPERATED BY THE
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION OF THE CITY OF ELGIN
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That there is hereby established the following schedule
of fares for municipal bus service provided by the Department of Trans-
portation of the City of Elgin:
Fare
Routes Within the City of Elgin
Adult 50¢
Senior Citizens and Handicapped (with proper I.D.) 25¢
Students:
1. With Transportation Department Passes
Students of high school age and below
traveling to and from school between the
hours of 6:15 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. 25¢
2. With School District U-46 Passes
Students O-high school age and below
traveling to and from school between
the hours of 6:15 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Free
Children from age 7 through age 11 25¢
Children age 6 years and younger
(when accompanied by a fare paying passenger) Free
Elgin Transfers Free
RTA Universal Transfer 40¢
(Students, Senior Citizens E Handicapped 20¢)
Carpentersville & Barrington, Chicago and Northwestern
Feeder Service
Adults 50¢
Senior Citizens and Handicapped (with proper I.D.) 25¢
Students/Children 7 - 11 25¢
Children age 6 and under
(with fare paying passenger) Free
RTA Transfer 40¢
Reduced Fare RTA Transfer 20¢
Section 2. That only exact fares shall be accepted on all routes.
Section 3. That Ordinance G30-81 be and is hereby repealed.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after July 13, 1981.
