HomeMy WebLinkAboutG72-80 Ordinance No. G72-80 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE UNAUTHORIZED USE OF PARKING PLACES RESERVED FOR HANDICAPPED PERSONS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That Section 11.36.155 is hereby added to the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, which shall read as follows: "11.36.155 Unauthorized use of parking places reserved for handicapped persons No person shall park any motor vehicle which is not bearing registration plates issued to a physically handi- ca, ped person or disabled veteran issued pursuant to Sec- tion 3-616 or 3-609 of the Illinois Vehicle Code, or handicapped motorist decal or device issued by a local governing authority, in the following parking spaces specifically reserved for handicapped parking by the posting of an official sign: A. Municipal Parking Lot at Dexter Court, the northernmost three spaces in the westernmost row. B. Civic Center Parking Lot, the northern- most three spaces in the westernmost row and the easternmost three spaces in the southernmost row." Section 2.
