HomeMy WebLinkAboutG59-79 Ordinance No. G59-79 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING FARES AND CHARGES FOR THE TRANSPORTATION OF PERSONS BY MOTOR VEHICLES BY EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES OPERATED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION OF THE CITY OF ELGIN BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That there is hereby established the following schedule of fares for municipal bus service provided by the Department of Trans- portation of the City of Elgin: Fare Routes Within the City of Elgin Adult 35¢ Senior Citizens and Handicapped (with proper I.D.) 15¢ Students 1. With Transportation Department Passes Students of high school age and below traveling to and from school between the hours of 6:15 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. 15¢ 2. With School District U-46 Passes Students of- high school age and below traveling to and from school between the hours of 6:15 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Free Children from age 7 through age 11 15¢ Children age 6 years and younger (when accompanied by a fare paying passenger) Free Elgin Transfers Free RTA Universal Transfer Free (Students, Senior Citizen and Handicapped 15¢) Elgin/Aurora Bus Route Adults 35¢ (local) 60¢ (non-local) RTA Transfers 35¢ (local) 10¢ (non-local) Senior Citizens, Handicapped Persons, Students (with proper I.D.), Children 7-11 15¢ (local) 25¢ (non-local) RTA Transfer 15¢ (local) 5¢ (non-local) Carpentersville & Barrington Chicago and Northwestern Feeder Service, Streamwood Feeder and North & South Hanover Park Feeder Service Adults 35¢ Senior Citizens and Handicapped (with proper I.D.) 15¢ Students/Children 7-11 15¢ Children age 6 and under (with fare paying passenger) Free RTA Transfer 35¢ Reduced Fare RTA Transfer 15¢ Crystal Lake/Elgin Adult 35¢ (local) 60¢ (non-local) RTA Transfer 35¢ (local) 15¢ (non-local) Local Transfer Free Senior Citizen, Handicapped Persons, Students (with proper I.D.) , Children 7-11 15¢ (local) 25¢ (non-local) RTA Transfer 15¢ (local) 5¢ (non-local) Country Bus Adult Fare $1:20 (round-trip) Reduced Fare $ .50 (round-trip) Section 2. That only exact .fares- shall.b'e. accepted on routes other than the Elgin- Aurora route. Section 3. That Ordinance G46-79 be and is hereby repealed. Section 4.
