AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE PROVISIONS OF THE ELGIN MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING
TO THE SALE OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That Section 6.06.020 of Chapter 6.06 of the Elgin Municipal
Code, as amended, is hereby amended by adding the following:
"C. Regular meetings of the commission shall be held on
the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Elgin
Municipal Building."
Section 2. That Section 6.06.040 of Chapter 6.06 of the Elgin Municipal
Code, as amended, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"6.06.040 Employee Permits
A. It is unlawful for any holder of a license required
for retail sales of alcoholic liquors to employ any person to
sell or serve alcoholic liquors who is not a holder of an
employee permit issued by the Local Liquor Control Commission.
B. Employee permits may be issued by the Local Liquor
Control Commission upon written application and shall remain
in force and effect for a period not more than three years and
shall be subject to revocation for cause by the Commission
upon violation of any provision of Section 6.06.160. Applica-
tions shall be submitted to the Police Department of the City
of Elgin, where the applicant shall be fingerprinted and
photographed.
C. The fee for an employee permit shall be $20.00 per
application or renewal.
D. A temporary permit may be issued to any applicant for
a period not to exceed thirty (30) days. Such temporary permit
shall expire upon issuance of the permit applied for, or at such
time as the Commission may determine that the applicant is not
entitled to a permit.
E. Employee permits shall be issued only to those persons
who would be eligible to obtain a license for the sale of
alcoholic liquor, but such persons are not required to be
citizens of the United States."
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and publication and shall be published in pamphlet form
by authority of the City Council.
