AN ORDINANCE
GRANTING A SPECIAL USE FOR OFF-STREET PARKING
WHEREAS, written application has been made for a special use for
off-street parking on the premises commonly known as 340 Griswold Street,
Elgin, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the Land Use Committee conducted a public hearing on said
application after due notice as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the Land Use Committee recommended that the special use
requested be granted; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Elgin concurs in the
recommendation of the Land Use Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the City Council hereby finds that the proposed
special use is necessary for the public convenience at the location
proposed in providing off-street parking in the R-3, Two Family Residence
District;
The City Council further finds the proposed use, if granted, is so
designed, located and proposed to be operated that the public health,
safety and welfare will be protected by the installation of screening in
accordance with applicable ordinances;
The City Council further finds that the proposed special use will
not cause substantial injury to the value of other property in the
neighborhood in which it is located and that the additional off-street
parking provided will tend to relieve congestion and protect property
values.
Section 2. That a special use is hereby granted to permit off-street
parking on the property commonly known as 340 Griswold Street, Elgin,
Illinois, and legally described as 'follows:
Lot 11 of Lordls Second Addition to Elgin, in the City
of Elgin, Kane County, Illinois.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage in the manner provided by law.
