That there is hereby established a schedule of fees for permits and inspections required by applicable ordinances of the City of Elgin: I. BUILDING: A. NEW CONSTRUCTION; 1. Residential: Basic Fee $ 5.00 Plus Per 100 sq. ft. , or portion thereof of overall area of each floor above and below grade $ 4. 00 Plus Certificate of occupancy Plus Plan Check (over 2000 sq. ft. living area) 2. Garages: Basic Fee $ 5.00 Plus Per 100 sq. ft. , or portion thereof of overall area $ 2.00 3. Commercial: Same as residential B. ALTERATIONS & REPAIRS; 1. Residential and Private Garages: Basic Fee $ 5.00 Plus Per M, or fraction of valuation $ 2.00 2. Commercial: Same as residential Plus Plan Check C C. MOVING BUILDINGS; Basic Fee $ 5.00 Plus Up to 200 sq. ft. $ 20.00 201 to 400 sq. ft. $ 30.00 Over 400 sq. ft. $ 100.00 NOTE: Application for permit shall be accompanied by $10,000 Bond and $100,000 - $300,000 Liability Insurance Policy naming City of Elgin as "additional insured" D. Where permit is revoked at the request of the applicant prior to lapsing due to time limits, and no work has been done under the permit, all but the basic fee may be refunded.
