HomeMy WebLinkAboutG34-75 Ordinance No. G34-75 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING NOT FOR PROFIT COMMUNITY SERVICE FACILITIES AS A SPECIAL USE IN ALL RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS WHEREAS, an amendment has been proposed to the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Elgin to establish not for profit community service facilities, as defined, as a special use in all residential districts; and WHEREAS, the Plan Commission has reviewed said proposal and submitted its findings and recommendations to the City Council and Zoning Board of Appeals; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals conducted a public hearing after due notice as required by the statutes of the State of Illinois and the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Elgin; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended that said proposed amendment be made. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: • Section 1. That Section 21-107B(2) of Chapter 21 of the Municipal Code of Elgin be and is hereby amended by adding the following to the enumerated list of special uses: "q. Community service facilities offering various community services on a not-for-profit basis deemed necessary for the public benefit." Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage in the manner provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council. s/ Richard L.
