HomeMy WebLinkAboutG51-74 Ordinance No. 51-74 AN ORDINANCE REZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED AT 321 DIVISION STREET IN THE CITY OF ELGIN WHEREAS, written application has been made to reclassify certain prop- erty at 321 Division Street, Elgin, Illinois, from R-5, General Residence District, to B-3, Service Business District; and WHEREAS, the Plan Commission has submitted its recommendations to the Zoning Board of Appeals and the City Council; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Board held a public hearing after due notice as required by law and has recommended approval of said application. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That Subsection b of Section 21-106, Chapter 21 of the City Code of Elgin, Illinois, as amended, be, and the same is hereby amended by adding to it the following paragraph: "That the boundaries hereinbefore described and laid out in the 'Zoning District Map,' as amended, be and are hereby altered by including in the B-3, Service Business District, and deleting from R-5, General Residence District, the follow- ing described premises: That part of Block 1 of the Original Town of Elgin, on the East side of the Fox River, described as follows: Beginning at the Northeast corner of said Block 1; thence South along the East line of said block, 200 feet to a point 130 feet North of the Northeast corner of Lot 10 in said block; thence West parallel with the North line of Lots 10 and 9 in said block, 132 feet; thence South parallel with the East line of said block, 97 feet; thence West parallel with the North line of Lot 8 in said block, 66 feet to the East line of Lot 5 in said block; thence North along the East line of Lots 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 of said block, 297 feet to the North line of said block, thence East along said North line 198 feet to the point of beginning; in the City of Elgin, Kane County, Illinois." commonly known as 321 Division Street. Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage in the manner provided by law. s/ W. E. Rauschenberger W. E.
