e.► AN ORDINANCE
OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS PROVIDING A GENERAL PENALTY
FOR ORDINANCE VIOLATIONS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. Any person violating any of the provisions or failing to
comply with any of the mandatory requirements of the ordinances of the City
of Elgin, shall be guilty of an offense. Except in cases where a different
punishment is prescribed by any ordinance of the city of Elgin, any person
convicted of an offense under the ordinances of Elgin shall be punished by
a fine of not less than $25.00 nor more than $500.00.
Each such person shall be guilty of a separate offense for each and
every day during any portion of which any violation of any provision of
the ordinances of the city of Elgin is committed, continued or permitted
by any such person, and he shall be punished accordingly.
Section 2. That section 2-10 entitled "Penalties" of the City Code of
Elgin as amended is hereby repealed.
Section 3. That section 2-11 entitled "Election by Prosecuting Officer"
of the City Code of Elgin as amended is hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective upon passage as pro-
vided by law and shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the City
Council.
