HomeMy WebLinkAboutG-1589 217 Jane 13, 1973 VOLUME XX . Ordinance No. G-1589 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS FOR OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: • Section 1. That Article 1 of Chapter 15 1/2 of the Municipal Code of the City of Elgin is hereby amended by adding the following subsection: •Residency Requirements for Officers and Employees. All officers except members of the Police and Fire Departments other than the respective chiefs of said departments shall be residents of the City of Elgin. Members of the Police and Fire Departments other than the respective chiefs of said departments and all other employees of the City of Elgin shall reside within the following described boundaries located within the State of Illinois: Commencing at the intersection of Algonquin Road and State Route 47 and proceeding southerly to the intersection of State Route 47 and Burlington Road, thence southeasterly along /1 Burlington Road to the intersection of Burlington Road and State Route 64, thence easterly along State Route 64 to the intersection of State Route 64 and State Route 59. That northerly along State Route 59 to the intersection of State Route 59 and Army Trail Road, thence easterly along Army Trail Road to the intersection of Army Trail Road and Gary Avenue, thence northerly along Gary Avenue to - the intersection of Gary Avenue and State Route 20, thence north- westerly along State Route 20 to its intersection with Barrington Road, thence northerly along Barrington Road to its intersection with State Route 62, thence northwesterly along State Route 62 to its intersection with Algonquin Road, thence westerly along Algonquin Road to the point of beginning." Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect fret and after its passage in the manner provided by law and shall be published it pamphlet form by authority of the City Council. W. R.
