HomeMy WebLinkAboutG-1545 Ordinance No. G-1545 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE CITY CODE OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS ENTITLED "THE ELGIN ZONING ORDINANCE". WHEREAS, a public hearing has been duly held pursuant to the Statutes of the State of Illinois , and the provisions of the Elgin Zoning Ordinance , and WHEREAS, the Elgin Zoning Board of Appeals has transmitted its recommendations to the City Council, all of which have been duly considered . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That Sub-Section B of Section 21-106 of Chapter 21 of the City Code of Elgin, Illinois , as amended, be, and the same hereby is , amended by adding thereto, the following paragraph: That the boundaries hereinbefore described and laid out in the "Zoning District Map", as amended , be, and they hereby are, altered by excluding from R-4, General Resi- dence District, and including in R-6, General Residence District, the following described premises , to-wit: Lots 5 , 6, 7 , 8, 9 and 10 in Block 45 of W. C. Kimball 's Plat of West Elgin, in the City of Elgin, Kane County, Illinois . (Commonly known as 4 North Jackson Street.) This zoning is granted for purposes consistent with R-6 zoning and upon the following conditions : (1) That operation of the present nursing home facility cease on or before November 17, 1972 ; (2) That working drawings of the new facility be ordered within 60 days from the date sewer permits are made avai- lable by the Elgin Sanitary District and actual physical construction shall begin within one year from the said date . (3) That the provisions of the Elgin School Site Contri- bution Ordinance shall apply to the proposed project, and (4) That should multi-family dwelling units be constructed, Lots 4 and 13 of Block 45 of W. C. Kimball 's Plat of West Elgin shall be acquired and used for ingress and egress to said site . 575 October 25, 1972 VOLUME XXXVII If each and every one of the aforesaid four conditions are not met within the specified time limits, the -above described premises shall revert to its prior zoning of R-4 without further action of the City Council. Section 2 . Subject to the aforesaid conditions , that all ordinares or parts thereof in conflict herewith be, and the same hereby are , repealed and of no further force and effect. Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council. W. E.
