HomeMy WebLinkAboutG-1537 Ordinance No. G-1537 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A SPECIAL USE AS AN OPEN OFF-STREET PARKING LOT, TO BE ESTABLISHED ON CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF ELGIN, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 21 OF THE CITY CODE OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS, ENTITLED "THE ELGIN ZONING ORDINANCE". WHEREAS, the City Council has been requested to authorize a Special Use as an open off-street parking lot upon certain property, hereinafter described in the City of Elgin, and WHEREAS, said property is zoned R-2, Single Family Residence District, under the provisions of the Elgin Zoning Ordinance, and WHEREAS, a written report has been prepared and forwarded to the Zoning Board of Appeals and the City Council by the Plan Commission pertaining to this particular petition, and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that such Special Use requested is necessary for the public convenience, can be designed, located and operated so that the public health, safety and welfare will be protected, and will not cause substantial injury to the value of the other property in the neighborhood in which it is located, and therefore, should be granted. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That a Special Use as an open off-street parking lot be, and the same hereby is, authorized pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 21 of the City Code of Elgin, Illinois, entitled "The Elgin Zoning Ordinance" on the followind described real estate, to- wit: The West half of Lot 15 and all of Lot 14 in Block 7 of Ludlow's Addition to Elgin, in the City of Elgin, Kane County, Illinois . Section 2 . That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith be, and the same hereby are, repealed and of no further force and effect. Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage as provided by law and shall be. published in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council. f s/ W. E.
