AN ORDINANCE
PROHIBITING THE CONNECTION OF SANITARY OR INDUSTRIAL WASTE SEWERS TO
STORM WATER DRAINAGE SYSTEMS CONSTRUCTED AS A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT ON
A CERTAIN PORTION OF STATE STREET AND WEST RIVER ROAD IN THE CITY OF
ELGIN, ILLINOIS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or
corporation to connect or cause to be connected, any drain carrying,
or to carry, any toilet, sink, basement, septic tank, cesspool,
industrial waste, or any fixture or device discharging polluting
substances, to any storm drainage system constructed as a part of
the improvement of Ill. Route 31 (State Street) and West River Road,
Federal-Aid Project EHSTm5172(3), City Section 83-CS.
Section 2. Any person, firm, or corporation violating this
ordinance shall be fined not less than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00)
nor more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each offense, and a
separate offense shall be deemed committed for each and every day
during which a violation continues or exists.
Section 2. That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict
herewith be, and the same hereby are, repealed and of no further
force and effect.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be effective from and
after its passage as provided by law and shall be published in
pamphlet form by authority of the City Council.
