AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE CITY CODE OF ELGIN , ILLINOIS
ENTITLED "THE ELGIN ZONING ORDINANCE" AUTHORIZING A
SPECIAL USE FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF A TRAILER
SALES AND RENTAL ESTABLISHMENT ON CERTAIN PROPERTY , IN
THE CITY OF ELGIN , ILLINOIS :
WHEREAS , the City Council has been requested to authorize
a Special Use for the operation and maintenance of a trailer
sales and rental establishment on certain property hereinafter
described , in the City of Elgin , Illinois , which is presently
classified B-4 , General Service District , under the provisions
of the Elgin Zoning Ordinance , and
WHEREAS , a written report has been prepared and forwarded
to the Zoning Board of Appeals and the City Council by the
Plan Commission pertaining to this particular petition , and
WHEREAS , a public hearing has been held by the Zoning
Board of Appeals , after due notice by publication , as pro-
vided by Statute , and its findings and recommendations have
been reported to the City Council , and
WHEREAS , the City Council has determined that such Special
Use requested is necessary for the public convenience , can
be designed , located and operated so that the public health ,
.► safety and welfare will be protected, and will not cause
substantial injury to the value of other property in the
neighborhood in which it is located and , therefore , should be
granted .
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ELGIN , ILLINOIS :
Section 1 . That a Special Use for the operation and main-
tenance of a trailer sales and rental establishment be , and
the same hereby is , authorized , pursuant to the provisions
of Chapter 21 of the City Code of Elgin , Illinois , entitled
"The Elgin Zoning Ordinance" , on the following described real
estate , to-wit :
That part of Lot 4 of the County Clerk ' s Subdivision
of thst quarter of Section 19 , Township 41
North , Range 9 East of the Third Principal Meridian
described as follows : Commencing at the Southeasterly
corner of land deeded by William Grote and Alfred
Church and wives to Chris Peterson by deed dated
December 24 , 1908 and recorded in Book 10596 on page
247 ; thence Northwesterly along the center line of
Villa Street ( U . S . Route 20) , a distance of 279 .9
feet; thence Northeasterly , at right angles to the last
described course , a distance of 33 ,0 feet to the
Northerly right of way line of Villa Street ( U . S . Route 20)
for the place of beginning ; thence continuing Northeasterly ,
along the last described course , a distance of 167 . 0
feet; thence Northwesterly , parallel with the center
line of Villa Street (U . S . Route 20) , a distance
of 161 feet more or less to a point on a line that
is 40 .0 feet Southeasterly of (measured at right
angles thereto) and parallel with the center line
of Dickie Avenue , extended Northeasterly ; thence
Southwesterly , along said parallel line , a distance
of 167 feet more or less to the Northerly right
of way line of Villa Street (U . S . Route 20) ;
thence Southeasterly , along said Northerly right
of way line , a distance of 147 feet more or less
to the place of beginning . Being situated in the
City of Elgin , Cook County , Illinois and containing
0 . 59 Acres more or less .
Section 2 , That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict
herewith be , and the same hereby are , repealed and of no
further force and effect .
Section 3 . That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage as provided by law
and shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of
the City Council .
