Ordinance No. G-1377
AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAFTER 24 OF THE CITY CODE ENTITLED "ALCOHOLIC
LIQUOR DEALERS" TO REMOVE THE LIMITATION UNDER CLASS E LICENSES
OF CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AT TABLES ONLY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That Sub-section (a) of Section 24-4 of
Chapter 24 be, and the same hereby is, amended to change the
definition of Class E liquor licenses as follows, to-wit:
"Class E - for the retail sale in restaurants, as
defined in Article I, Paragraph 2.23 of the Illinois
Liquor Control Law, of all kinds of legalized
alcoholic liquors for consumption on the premises,
expressly providing, however, that such licenses
shall be issued only to establishments having a
regular capacity, in accordance with existing City
and State Public Health and Fire Prevention Ordinances
and Statutes, to serve meals to not less than 150 persons
at any one time".
Section 2. That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict
herewith be, and the same hereby are, revoked and of no further
force and effect.

Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage as provided by law
and shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the
City Council.

Resolution Adopted Authorizing the Organization of a
Civil Defense Mobile Support Unit
Mayor Alft read in its entirety the resolution authorizing the organization of a Civil
Defense Mobile Support Unit. He stated that the City of Elgin is fortunate to have as its citizens the Fox Valley Citizen's Band Sentinels . Mayor Alft asked members to
stand and be recognized by the Council.
Councilman Barber made a motion, seconded by Councilman Santanni to adopt a resolution
authorizing the Fox Valley Citizen's Band Sentinels to be named as Mobile Support Unit
of the Elgin Civil Defense Organization. Yeas: Councilmen Barber, Rauschenberger,
Santanni, Tillery and Mayor Alft. Nays: None.
