ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORIES IN ELGIN TOWNSHIP, KANE COUNTY,
ILLINOIS, TO THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, the City of Elgin, Illinois, and Junior College District No.
509, Counties of Kane, Cook and DuPage, State of Illinois, a body politic
and corporate of the State of Illinois, are the sole owners of record of the
territories hereinafter described, and no electors reside thereon, and
WHEREAS, said territories are not within the corporate limits of
any municipality and are contiguous to the City of Elgin, Illinois, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Elgin, Illinois, has and
hereby does determine that it is desirable that said territories owned by the
City of Elgin, Illinois, be annexed to the City of Elgin, Illinois, and
WHEREAS, the Board of School Trustees of said Junior College Dis-
trict No. 509, Counties of Kane, Cook and 'DuPage, State of Illinois, have
heretofore adopted a resolution recommending the annexation of territories
owned by said Junior College District to the corporate limits of the City of
Elgin, Illinois, a copy of which resolution has been transmitted to the
corporate authorities of the municipality, and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the said Junior College District to
maintain a college and buildings appurtenant thereto upon the territories
which it owns hereinafter described, and it is the intention of the said City
of Elgin to operate a municipal golf course on the portion of the territories
which it owns hereinafter described, and
WHEREAS, such uses are permitted under the applicable zoning
under the Zoning Ordinance of Kane County, Illinois,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the territories and lands described as follows, to-wit:
That part of the South half of Section 21 and part of the South-
west quarter of Section 22, all in Township 41 North, Range 8,
East of the Third Principal Meridian described as follows:
Commencing at the center of said Section 22; thence Westerly
along the East and West center line of Section 22, 170. 3 feet
to the center line of McLean Boulevard (State Aid Route 18);
thence Southwesterly along the center line of McLean Boule-
r yard, 679. 45 feet; thence Southwesterly along said center line,
being along a curve to the left, tangent to the last described
course, 593. 4 feet to a point 142. 35 feet Northerly (measured
along said center line) from the South line of the Northeast

quarter of the Southwest quarter of said Section 22 for the place
of beginning; thence continuing Southwesterly along said center
line, being along a curve to the left, 407. 65 feet; thence South-
westerly along said center line being tangent to the last described

curve 404. 0 feet to an angle in said center line; thence South-
westerly along said center line, 430. 05 feet to an angle in said
center line; thence Southwesterly along said center line, 110. 75
feet; thence Southwesterly along a curve to the left, tangent to
the last described course, 128. 85 feet to the South line of the
Southwest quarter of said Section 22; thence Westerly along the
South line of the Southwest quarter of said Section 22, 1918. 8 feet
to the Southwest corner of said Section 22, being also the South-
east corner of said Section 21; thence Westerly along the South
line of the Southeast quarter of Section 21, 2654. 05 feet to the
Southwest corner of the Southeast quarter of said Section 21;
thence Northerly along the West line of the Southeast quarter of
Section 21, 1320. 35 feet to the Southeast corner of the Northeast
quarter of the Southwest quarter of said Section 21; thence
Westerly along the South line of the Northeast quarter of the
Southwest quarter of Section 21, 1328. Q3J feet to the Southwest
corner of the North quarter of the Southwest quarter of said Sec-
tion 21; thence North along the West line of the Northeast quarter
of the Southwest quarter of said Section 21, 655. 0 feet to apoint
659. 6 feet South of the Northwest corner of the Northeast quarter
of said Southwest quarter; thence Easterly parallel with the East
and West center line of Sections 21 and 22, 5779. 65 feet to an

angle point in the South line of Lot 1 in Burnidge Bros. Industrial
Park, Block "D" of Unit No. 1; thence Southerly along the West-
erly line and Westerly line extended of said Lot 1, 461. 2 feet;
thence Southeasterly 356. 5 feet to the point of beginning. ALSO
all that part of McLean Boulevard lying Easterly of and adjacent
to the Easterly line of the aforedescribed property. In the
Township of Elgin, Kane County, Illinois.
be, and they hereby are, annexed to and made a part of the City of Elgin,
Illinois, and that the boundary lines of the City of Elgin be, and they hereby
are, enlarged and extended to include within the corporate boundaries thereof
the said described territories.
Section 2. That the said territories be, and they hereby are, included
in R-2 Single Family Residence District, as set forth in the Elgin Zoning Or-
dinance (Chapter 21 of the City Code of Elgin, Illinois), with the following
Special Uses specifically permitted thereon:
(a) Colleges and universities and uses accessory and incidental
thereto - but not colleges or trade schools operated for profit.
(b) Golf Courses - but not including commercially operated
driving ranges or miniature golf courses.
Section 3. That a certified copy of this ordinance, together with an
accurate map of said annexed territory, be filed with the Recorder of Deeds
of Kane County, Illinois.
Section 4, That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon
its passage, as provided by law, and it shall be published in pamphlet form
by authority of the City Council.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE That the City Council of Elgin, Illinois and the
Board of Trustees of Junior College District No. 509 desire to annex the
following Real Estate owned by the City and the Junior College District
to the City of Elgin to wit:

The aforesaid Annexation will be considered by the City Council of
the City of Elgin at its Council meeting at the City Hall, 202 East
Chicago Street, Elgin, Illinois, on July 27, 1967 at 7:30 o'clock P.M.

AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. S-823 PASSED ON APRIL 14, 1966, EN-
TITLED "AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORIES SITUATED
IN ELGIN TOWNSHIP, KANE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AND AUTHORIZING A
SPECIAL USE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF A
PLANNED DEVELOPMENT FOR RESIDENTIAL PURPOSES TO BE ESTAB-
LISHED THEREON".
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. S-823, passed on April 14, 1966, entitled
"An Ordinance Annexing Certain Territories Situated In Elgin Township,
Kane County, Illinois, And Authorizing A Special Use For The Development
And Maintenance Of A Planned Development For Residential Purposes
Thereon", provided in sub-paragraph b of Section 4 that the said planned
development shall strictly conform to plans, specifications and plats showing
the location of buildings and improvements theretofore submitted to the Plan
Commission of Elgin and the Zoning Board of Appeals of the City of Elgin,
Illinois, which plans, specifications, and plat were made a part of and incor-
porated in said Ordinance, and
WHEREAS, due to drainage problems effecting the area involved, it
has become necessary to file an amended plat showing the location of buildings
and improvements, and
WHEREAS, said amended plat has been reviewed and approved, both by
the Plan Commission and City Council of the City of Elgin, Illinois,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. S-823, passed by the City Council of
Elgin, Illinois, on April 14, 1966, be, and the same hereby is, amended in
the following manner, to-wit:
By amending sub-paragraph b of Section 4 thereof to provide that said planned
development shall strictly conform to the plans and specifications and the
amended plat dated June 13, 1967 , showing the location of buildings and
improvements heretofore submitted to the Plan Commission of the City of
Elgin and the City Council, which plans and specifications and amended plat
are hereby made a part of and incorporated in this ordinance.
Section 2. That Ordinance No. S-823 passed April 14, 1966, as
amended, shall in all respects remain in full force and effect as specifically
modified hereby.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, as provided by law, and shall be published in pamphlet
form by authority of the City Council.
