AN ORDINANCE
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORIES IN THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF
SECTION 16, TOWNSHIP 41 NORTH, RANGE 8 EAST OF THE THIRD
PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, ELGIN TOWNSHIP, KANE COUNTY, ILLINOIS,
TO THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by all of the owners of record of the
land hereinafter described, has been filed with the City Clerk and no
electors reside thereon, and
WHEREAS, said petition requests the annexation of such territories
to the City of Elgin and contains statements therein under oath, that all of
the owners of record of such land have joined in such petition and that no
electors reside thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the territories and lands described as follows, to-wit:
That part of the Northwest Quarter of Section 16, Township
41 North, Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian
described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the
North line, extended Westerly, of Country Knolls Unit No.
12, being a subdivision of part of said Section 16, with the
East line of the Northwest quarter of said Section 16; thence
Northerly along said East line, a distance of 35. 0 feet;
thence Westerly, parallel with the North line extended
Westerly of Country Knolls Unit No. 12, a distance of
365. 25 feet; thence Southerly at right angles to the last
described course, a distance of 500. 0 feet; thence Easterly
at right angles to the last described course, a distance of
220. 0 feet; thence Southerly, at right angles to the last
described course, a distance of 404. 28 feet to a point on
the South line of said Northwest quarter that is 130. 0 feet
Westerly of the Southeast corner thereof; thence Northerly
parallel with the East line of said Northwest quarter, a
distance of 869 feet more or less to the North line, extended
Westerly, of Country Knolls, Unit No. 12; thence Easterly
along said North line extended Westerly, a distance of
130. 0 feet to the place of beginning. Being situated in Elgin
Township, Kane County, Illinois, and containing 2. 79 Acres
more or less.
being contiguous to the City of Elgin and not a part of any municipality, be,
and they hereby are, annexed to and made a part of the City of Elgin.
Section 2. That the boundary lines of the City of Elgin be, and
they are hereby, enlarged and extended to include within the corporate
boundaries thereof the above-described territories.
Section 3. That said territories be, and they are hereby, included
in R-2, Single Family Residence District, as set forth in the Elgin
Zoning Ordinance (Chapter 21 of the City Code of Elgin, Illinois).
Section 4. That a certified copy of this ordinance, together with
an accurate map of said annexed territories, be filed with the Recorder
of Deeds of Kane County, Illinois.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, as provided by law, and shall be published
in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council.
