HomeMy WebLinkAboutS-834 Ordinance No. S-834 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A MODIFICATION OF THE SIDEWALK ORDINANCE AS IT PERTAINS TO CERTAIN PORTIONS OF SCHILLER, SHULER, AND SOUTH STREETS IN THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS. WHEREAS, various petitions have been filed with the City of Elgin requesting authorization for the modification of the Sidewalk Ordinance on various streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, and WHEREAS, pursuant to authority given by resolution of the City Council, the City Manager has reviewed the individual requests and has rec- ommended, in view of the general terrain of the various areas and the loca- tion of existing sidewalks thereon, such modifications are desirable. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That a curb line sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the following streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, to-wit: Schiller Street, on the North side thereof, between North State Street and North Crystal Street. Shuler Street, on the North side thereof, between North McLean Boulevard and North Weston Avenue. Section 2. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the following street in such a manner that the edge nearest the curb line of said street shall lie at a point 3 feet distant thereof, to-wit: South Street, on the North side thereof, between South Clifton Avenue and South Melrose Avenue. Section 3. That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith be repealed and of no further force and effect. Section 4. That this ordinance shall be effective from and after its passage as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet form by r authority of the City Council. Clyde L .
