Home My WebLink AboutS-832 Ordinance No, S-832 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING MODIFICATION OF SIDEWALK ORDINANCE AS IT PERTAINS TO CERTAIN PORTIONS OF COMMONWEALTH, PARKWAY AND SHERWOOD AVENUES IN THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS. WHEREAS, various petitions have been filed with the City of Elgin requesting authorization for the modification of the Sidewalk Ordinance on various streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, and WHEREAS, pursuant to authority given by resolution of the City Council, the City Manager has reviewed the individual requests and has rec- ommended, in view of the general terrain of the various areas and the .loca- tion_ of existing sidewalks thereon, such modifications are desirable. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That a curb Line sidewalk of approved specificatons be, and such hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the West side of Sherwood Avenue from the South lot line of 1310 Sherwood Avenue to Trout Park Boulevard. Section 2. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is authorized to be, constructed upon and along the following list of streets, in such a manner that the edge nearest the curb line of the respective streets shall lie at a point three feet distance thereof, to-wit: Parkway Avenue on the South side thereof from the driveway at 1331 Dundee Avenue to Dundee Avenue South Commonwealth Avenue on the West side thereof from Adams Street to Route 20 Bypass Sherwood Avenue on the West side thereof from Oakhill Road to the South lot line of 1310 Sherwood Avenue Section 3. That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith be repealed and of no further force and effect. r Section 4. That this ordinance shall be effective from and after its passage as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council. Clyde L.
