HomeMy WebLinkAboutS-830 VOLUME XXXI July 14, 1966 -, 188 Ordinance No. 8-830 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A MODIFICATION OF THE SIDEWALK ORDINANCE AS IT PERTAINS TO CERTAIN PORTIONS OF AIONGDON.AVENUIVHI AND ELGIN - ANIMMILLAN3 AVENUES IN THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS • WHEREAS, various petitions have been filed with the City of Elgin requesting authorization for the modification of the sidewalk ordinance on various streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, and WHEREAS, pursuant to authority given by resolution of the City Council, the City Manager has reviewed the individual requests and has recommended, in view of the general terrain of the various areas and the location of existing sidewalks thereon, such modifications are desirable. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the following list of streets is such a manner that the edge nearest the curb line of the respective streets shall lie at a point 3 feet distance thereof, to-wit: • Elgin Avenue, on the South side thereof, from Elizabeth Street to Grace Street. Willard Avenue, on the West side thereof, from Bent Street to Ramona Avenue Section 2. That Ordinance No. S-826, passed May 12, 1966, be and the same hereby is, repealed so far as it pertains to the modification of the Sidewalk Ordinance for Congdon Avenue, on the North side thereof, between Iroquois Drive and Mohawk Drive Section 3. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be and such hereby is authorized to be constructed upon and along Congdon Avenue, on the North side thereof, between Iroquois Drive and Mohawk Drive in such a manner that the inside edge of the sidewalk shall lie nine and one-half feet South of the North property line of Congdon Avenue. Section 4. That all ordinances., or parts thereof, in conflict herewith - be repealed and of no further force and effect. Section 5. That this ordinance shall be effective from and after its passage, as provided by law, and shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council.
