HomeMy WebLinkAboutS-827B Ordinance No. S-827 S AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORIES IN SECTION 10, TOWNSHIP 41 NORTH RANGE 8 EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, IN ELGIN TOWN- SHIP KANE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, TO THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS. WHEREAS, a petition signed by all of the owners of record of the land hereinafter described, has been filed with the City Clerk and no electors reside thereon, and WHEREAS, said petition requests that the annexation of such terri- tories to the City of Elgin and contains statements therein under oath, that all of the owners of record of such land have joined in such petition and that no electors reside thereon. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the territories and lands described as follows, to-wit: That part of the right-of-way of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad (being 100 feet in width) lying Easterly of the center line of Sleepy Hollow Road and Westerly of a line located 100 feet East and parallel with the aforementioned center line of Sleepy Hollow Road all being situated in Section 10, Township 41, Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Elgin Township, Kane County, Illinois. Also that portion Sleepy Hollow Road lying Westerly and adjacent thereto in Elgin Township, Kane County, Illinois. being contiguous to the City of Elgin and not a part of any municipality be, and they are hereby, annexed to and made a part of the City of Elgin. Section 2. That the boundary lines of the City of Elgin be, and they are hereby, enlarged and extended to include within the corporate boun- daries thereof the above-described territories. Section 3. That said territories be, and they are hereby, included in R-2 Single Family Residence District, as set forth in the Elgin Zoning Ordi- nance ( Chapter 21 of the City Code of Elgin, Illinois ). r Section 4. That a certified copy of this ordinance, together with an accurate map of said annexed territories, be filed with the Recorder of Deeds of Cook County, Illinois. Section 5. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, as provided by law, and shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council. Clyde L.
