AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING A MODIFICATION OF THE SIDEWALK ORDINANCE AS IT
PERTAINS TO CERTAIN PORTIONS OF ADAMS AND ELIZABETH STREETS,
PRESTON, BELLEVUE, ILLINOIS, KEEP, OAKDALE, CONGDON, HOXIE,
VICTOR AND ELMA AVENUES, RIVIRBLUFF ROAD AND TROUT PARK
BOULEVARD IN THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, various petitions have been filed with the City of Elgin
requesting authorization for the modification of the Sidewalk Ordinance on
various streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to authority given by resolution of the City
Council, the City Manager has reviewed the individual requests and has
recommended, in view of the general terrain of the various areas and the
location of existing sidewalks thereon, such modifications are desirable.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That a curb line sidewalk of approved specifications be,
and such hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the following
streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, to-wits
Preston Avenue on the West side thereof between Keep Avenue
and Congdon Avenue.
Riverbluff Road on the South side thereof between Logan Avenue
and Cedar Avenue.
Riverbluff Road on the North Side thereof between Bellevue Avenue
and Duncan Avenue.
Riverbluff Road on the South side thereof between Bellevue Avenue
and Duncan Avenue.
Bellevue Avenue on the East side thereof from 1185 Bellevue
Avenue to the North end of the Street.
Section 2. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be and such
hereby is authorized to be constructed upon and along the following list of
streets, in such a manner that the edge nearest the curb line of the res-
pective streets shall lie at a point three feet distance thereof, to-wit:
Hoxie Avenue on the East side thereof from Lawrence Avenue to
the North end of the street.

Illinois Avenue on the West side thereof between the South side of the
driveway at 472 Illinois Avenue and Bent Street.
Illinois Avenue on the West side thereof between Jay Street and
Hastings Street.
Keep Avenue on the North side thereof between Dundee Avenue and
Liberty Street.
Preston Avenue on the West side thereof between Keep Avenue and
the driveway on Preston Avenue of Modern Dairy (address 1002 N.
Liberty Street)
Trout Avenue on the West side thereof between Parkway Ave-
nue and Stewart Avenue.
Victor Avenue on the West side thereof between Parkway Avenue and
Stewart Avenue.
Oakdale Avenue on the South side thereof between Sherwood Avenue
and Dundee Avenue.
Elizabeth Street on the West side thereof between Elgin Avenue and
Al)
Dixon Avenue.
Section 3. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be and such
hereby is authorized to be constructed upon and along the following list of
streets, in such manner that the edge nearest the curb line of the respective
streets shall lie at a point four feet distance thereof, to-wit:
Elma Avenue on the South side thereof between Dundee Avenue and
the West property line of 665 Elma Avenue,
Adams Street on the North side thereof between Lindberg Court and
the driveway at 514 Adams Street.
Section 4. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be and such
hereby is authorized to be constructed upon and along the North side of Trout
Park Boulevard from Park Road to Dundee Avenue in such a manner that the
Southerly edge of said sidewalk shall lie at a point six feet distance from
the curb line of said Trout Park Boulevard.
Section 5. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be and such
hereby is authorized to be constructed upon and along the South side of Ludlow
Avenue from Dundee Avenue to Preston Avenue in such a manner that the
Northerly edge of said sidewalk shall lie at a point eight feet distance from
the curb line of said Ludlow Avenue.

Section 6. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be and such
hereby is authorized to be constructed upon and along the West side of
Dundee Avenue between Glenwood Avenue and Trout Park Boulevard in such
a manner that the outside edge of the sidewalk Shall lie at a point twelve feet
West of the West edge of the existing pavement of Dundee Avenue.
Section 7. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be and such
hereby is authorized to be constructed upon and along the North side of
Congdon Avenue, between Hiawatha Drive and Iroquois Drive in such a manner
that the inside edge of the sidewalk shall lie at a point eighteen feet South of
the North property line of Congdon Avenue.
Section 8. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be and such
\ hereby is authorized to be constructed upon and along the North side of
��� Congdon Avenue between Iroquois Drive and Mohawk Drive in such a manner
x that the inside edge of the sidewalk shall lie three and one-half feet South of
n� the North property line of Congdon Avenue.
Section 9. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be and such
hereby is authorized to be constructed upon and along the North side of
Congdon Avenue between Mohawk Drive and Indian Drive in such a manner
that the inside edge of the sidewalk shall lie three and one-half feet South
elk of the North property line of Congdon Avenue.
Section 10. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be and such
hereby is authorized to be constructed upon and along the North side of
Congdon Avenue between Indian Drive and Blackhawk Drive in such a manner
that the inside edge of the sidewalk shall lie at a point three and one-half
feet South of the North property line of Congdon Avenue.
Section 11. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be and such
hereby is authorized to be constructed upon and along the North side of
Congdon Avenue between Blackhawk Drive and the city limits in such a
manner that the Southerly edge of said sidewalk shall lie at a point three
and one-half feet South of the North property line of Congdon Avenue.
Section 12. That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith
be repealed and of no further force and effect.
Section 13. That this ordinance shall be effective from and after its
