Ordinance No. S-820
AN ORDINANCE
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORIES IN SECTION 14, TOWNSHIP 41 NORTH,
RANGE 8, EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, ELGIN TOWN-
SHIP, KANE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, IN THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by all of the owners of record of the
land hereinafter described, has been filed with the City Clerk and no
electors reside thereon, and
WHEREAS, said petition requests the annexation of such territories
to the City of Elgin and contains statements therein under oath, that all of
the owners of record of such land have joined in such petition and that no
electors reside thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the territories and lands described as follows, to-wit:
PARCEL NO. 1:
That part of Section 16, Township 41 North, Range 8 East of the
Third Principal Meridian described as follows: Beginning at an
angle point in the Southerly line of Country Knolls Unit No. 8 being
a subdivision of part of Section 15 and 16, Township and Range
aforesaid, saidpoint being also the Northeast corner of Block 6 of
Walter G. McIntosh and Company's Fox River Farms Subdivision,
being a subdivision of part of said Section 16; thence Westerly along
the Southerly line of Country Knolls, Unit No. 8 and along the Southerly
line of the City of Elgin property, a distance of 2244. 44 feet to the
West line of the East half of said Section 16; thence Northerly along
said West line, a distance of 1596. 69 feet; thence Easterly parallel
with the South line of the North half of said Section 16, a distance
of 2231. 92 feet to the East line extended Northerly of Walter G. Mc
Intosh and Company's Fox River Farms Subdivision as aforesaid;
thence Southerly along said East line extended Northerly, a dis-
tance of 1510 feet more or less to the place of beginning. EXCEPTING
THEREFROM that part of Country Knolls Unit No. 8 as aforesaid,
as annexed by Ordinance No. S-755, passed July 23, 1964. ALSO
EXCEPTING THEREFROM the City of Elgin Property as aforesaid
as annexed by Ordinance No. S-755 and passed July 23, 1964. Being
situated in Elgin Township, Kane County, Illinois.
PARCEL NO. 2:
That part of Section 16, Township 41 North, Range 8 East of the Third
Principal Meridian, described as follows: That portion of Lyle
Avenue, as platted in Country Knoll's Unit No. 8, being a subdivision
of part of Sections 15 and. 16, Township and Range aforesaid, lying
Westerly of the East line extended Northerly of Fox River Farms
Subdivision, being a subdivision of part of Section 16, Township and
Range aforesaid, and Easterly of the Westerly right of way of line of 4111,
Lyle Avenue as aforesaid. Being situated in Elgin Township, Kane
County, Illinois.
PARCEL NO. 3:
That part of Section 16, Township 41 North, Range 8 East of the Third
Principal Meridian described as follows: Beginning at the center of
said Section 16; thence North along the East line of the West half of
said Section 16, a distance of 870. 2 feet; thence Westerly parallel
with the South line of the North half of said Section 16, a distance of
130. 0 feet; thence Southerly parallel with the East line of the West
half of said Section 16, a distance of 870. 2 feet to a point on the
South line of the North half of said Section 16 that is 130. 0 feet
Westerly of the place of beginning; thence Easterly along said South
line, a distance of 130. 0 feet to the place of beginning, Being sit-
' uated in Elgin Township, Kane County, Illinois.
being contiguous to the City of Elgin and not a part of any municipality be, and
they are hereby, annexed to and made a part of the City of Elgin.
Section 2. That the boundary lines of the City of Elgin be, and they
axe hereby, enlarged and extended to include within the corporate boundaries
thereof the above-described territories.
Section 3. That said territories be, and they are hereby, included in
R-2, Single Family Residence District, as set forth in the Elgin Zoning Ordi-
nance (Chapter 21 of the City Code of Elgin, Illinois).
Section 4. That a certified copy of this ordinance, together with an
accurate map of said annexed territories, be filed with the Recorder of Deeds
of Kane County, Illinois.
Section 5. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, as provided by law, and shall be published in pamp-
hlet form by authority of the City Council.
