HomeMy WebLinkAboutS-817 Ordinance No. S-817 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORIES IN ELGIN TOWNSHIP, KANE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, TO THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS WHEREAS, a petition signed by all of the owners of record and electors residing on the land hereinafter described has been filed with the City Clerk, and WHEREAS, said petition requests the annexation of such territories to the City of Elgin and contains statements therein under oath that all of the owners of record and electors residing on such lands have joined in such petition, and WHEREAS, the property sought to be annexed is zoned B-1 District, Business, under thezoning ordinance of Kane County, Illinois, and WHEREAS, the zoning ordinance of the City of Elgin provides that areas being annexed to the municipality may be annexed to the city under a inning classification corresponding to the existing county classification and the petitioner herein has requested that said property if annexed to the City of Elgin, be zoned B-1 Retail Business District, as provided in the Elgin Zoning Ordinance. rb* NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section- .1. That the territories and lands described as follows, to-wit: The North half of Lots 1 and 2 in Block II of Illinois Park, Second addition to Elgin , in the Township of Elgin, Kane County, Illinois. Also that portion of the Westerly half of McLean Blvd., lying adjacent to the North half of said Lots 1 and 2, in Block II, Illinois Park, Second addition to Elgin, in the Township of Elgin, Kane County, Illinois. being contiguous to the City of Elgin and not a part of any municipality be and they are hereby annexed to and made a part of the City of Elgin. Section 2. That the boundary lines of the City of Elgin be and they are hereby enlarged and extended to include within the corporate boundaries thereof the above described territories. Section 3. That said territories be and they are hereby included in B.-1 Retail Business District as set forth in the Elgin Zoning Ordinance (Chapter 21 of the City Code of Elgin, Illinois. ) 74— A) Section 4. That a certified copy of this ordinance together with an accurate map of said annexed territories be filed with the Recorder of Deeds of Kane County, Illinois. Section 5. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council. Clyde L.
