AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE MODIFICATION OF THE SIDEWALK ORDINANCE AT SPECIFIC
LOCATIONS
WHEREAS, various petitions have been filed with the City of Elgin
requesting authorization for the modification of the Sidewalk Ordinance on
various streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to authority given by resolution of the City Council,
the City Manager has reviewed the individual requests and has recommended, in
view of the general terrain of the various areas and the location of existing
sidewalks thereon, such modifications are desirable.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That a curb line sidewalk of approved specifications be,
and such hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the following
street in the City of Elgin, Illinois, to-wit:
South Union Street, bn the East side thereof, from the South line of
115 South Union Street to South Street.
Section 2. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such
hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the following street in
such a manner that the edge nearest the curb line of the respective street shall
r". lie at a point 3 feet distance thereof, to-wit:
LaSalle Street, on the East side thereof, from Wing Street ,0444
Ngot to the existing corporate limits.
Section 3. That all ordinances, or parts thereof, in conflict herewith
be repealed and of no further force and effect.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be effective from and after its
passage, as provided by law, and shall be published in pamphlet form by
authority of the City Council.
