Ordinance No. S-809 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A MODIFICATION OF THE SIDEWALK ORDINANCE AS IT PER T TAINS TO CERTAIN PORTIONS OF OAK, BENT, CONGRESS, ERIE AND VAN STREETS AND McLEAN BOULEVARD AND RIVER BLUFF ROAD, IN THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS, WHEREAS, various petitions have been filed with the City of Elgin re- questing authorization for the modification of the Sidewalk Ordinance on various streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, and WHEREAS, pursuant to authority given by resolution of the City Counc.0_, the City Manager has reviewed the individual requests and has recommended, it view of the general terrain of the various areas and the location of existing side- walks thereon, such modifications are desirable. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That a curb line sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the following streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, to-wit: Oak Street, on the North side thereof, between Orchard Street and Jewett Street. Bent Street, on the South side thereof, between Cleveland Avenue and Willard Avenue. Congress Street, on the North side thereof, between George Street and Illinois Avenue. • Erie Street, on the North side thereof, between South Edison Avenue and South Alfred Avenue. Van Street, on the North side thereof, between Crescent Street and Vine Street. Section 2. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such n.e:eb is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the following list of streets, in such a manner that the edge nearest the curb .line of the respective streets s!---.11 lie lie at a point three feet distance thereof, to-wit: Van Street, on the North side thereof, between South Clifton Avenue and South Melrose Avenue. 337 October 14, 1965 VOLI2E XXX. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and s hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the North side o' River Bluff Road, between.Sherwood Avenue and Dundee Avenue in such a mar,In.er that the Southerly edge of said sidewalk shall lie at a point four feet distance from the curb line of said River Bluff Road. Section 4. That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith be repealed and of no further force and effect. Section 5. Spiegler, City Clerk Resolution Adopted Authorizing the Execution of an Agreement with Victor Manufacturing and Gasket Company Pertaining to the Acquisition and Maintenance of a Sanitary Sewerage System Attorney George McBurney was present to speak for the Victor Manufacturing and Gasket Company's annexation petition and resolutions pertaining to agreements. He introduced Attorney Doud, Mr. Wayne Neatherly, Vice-Chairman of the Board, and Fred Tuttle, Secretary-Treasurer of the company. Chester Parsons, President of Elgin Sweeper Company, and William Richmond, his assistant, were also present, and these men thanked the Council for their cooperation and congratulated them upon their concern for the future of our city. Councilman laaener made a mction, seconded by Councilman Santanni, to adopt the resolution authorizing the exe-:y.:t_i a. of an agreement pertaining to the acquisition and maintenance of a sanitary sewerag system which had been introduced at the September 23rd meeting of the Council. Yeas: Councilmen Alft, Barber, Santanni, 'Till.ery, and Mayor Shales. Nays: None.
